I’d like to give a great big Christmas hello {insert wave} to all of Beth’s readers!
I am Sarah and I blog over at Alderberry Hill. I am usually crafting up a storm this time of year, getting ready for Christmas. But I thought I`d take a little break so that I could hang out with all of you today. Thanks so much Beth for having me, I`m thrilled to be here!
Today I am sharing with you a fantastically easy Christmas Ornament Craft –
the wonderful Feather Ball Ornament.
Here are the supplies you will need:
Styrofoam ball – any size really, whatever your preference.
Feathers – I love white but again you could use whatever color matches your decor.
Mod Podge.
Paint Brush.
Ribbon for hanging.
Stick Pins.
It is super hard to take pictures of white feathers on a white styrofoam ball!
Basically I coated an area of the styrofoam ball with Mod Podge and started placing the feathers on.
You will notice that feathers have a slight curve which is great, they will hug the styrofoam ball naturally.
Keep adding Mod Podge & feathers until covered.
When you have one layer of feathers on, add your ribbon, I used a couple of stick pins to secure.
Then I continued to add more feathers all around the top to hide the stick pins and around the styrofoam ball to give it a fuller, fluffy look.
I tied a pretty bow with the same ribbon and attached with stick pins too.
And here it is, all finished. It really is beautiful. I`d love to have a tree outfitted with these ornaments only!
The red sleigh in the background is one that my Father built for me this year. I cannot wait to put it on my front porch this Christmas!
I had trouble getting the shot below, but the Feather Ball looks so nice on my window ledge next to the birds – reminds me of a White Christmas!
Thanks again Beth for having me, it`s been a ball, ha, ha!
Be sure to pop on over to Alderberry Hill, (or visit my Facebook page) I have a ton of Christmas crafting going on right now.
As well I`d love for you to link your latest projects to Make the Scene Monday – it`s live every Sunday evening!
In the meantime, check out a couple of my popular Christmas Crafts from last year.
Happy Christmas Crafting Everyone!
